This year was a year of massive change for our family & this environment was our anchor. Thank you for caring for these kids like they are your own.

Anuja’s Father

I am proud of the environment created at TSJA, where each child is heard individually. I am proud of her emotional growth, her reading and comprehension skills and her enthusiasm for outdoor play.

Meghna’s Mother

I feel she has learned a lot to express herself. She is very social. Spends a lot of time learning new things. Since last year, she has developed an interest in learning more about cursive. This year, she has more structure to explore.

Shaping Up Futures

From Bijoya Chowdhary

From Bijoya Chowdhary (Senior English Teacher )

I’m Bijoya, an English Language and Literature teacher at The Shishya Jigyasa Academy, and my journey here has been deeply enriching and rewarding. Teaching English, to me, goes beyond texts—it is about helping students discover voices, perspectives, and connections to the world around them. At TSJA, there is a strong focus on engaging with literature in a thoughtful and reflective way, which allows students to not only understand texts but truly experience them.

What I appreciate most at TSJA, is the trust and freedom we are given to explore diverse teaching approaches. This enables me to bring creativity into my classroom and adapt my methods to suit the needs of my students. Hence, being a part of TSJA has significantly contributed to my growth as an educator; allowing me to inspire a love for language and literature while continuously evolving in my practice.

eing a part of TSJA has been a deeply enriching experience. It is more than a workplace, it feels like a family. The camaraderie among the management, colleagues, and staff creates a space where we openly share, reflect, and grow together. Our staff room conversations are not just casual exchanges, but meaningful discussions centred on how we can bring out the best in ourselves for every child we teach.

I still remember my first day, walking into a classroom that broke away from the conventional setup. The chair table seating, along with the option for students to sit on the floor, instantly created a sense of comfort and openness. It reflected a philosophy where learning is flexible, engaging, and student-centred rather than bound by rigid structures.

What I truly value is the spirit of collaboration at TSJA. We continuously learn from each other, exchange ideas, and strive to create innovative, application based learning experiences. This shared commitment makes teaching here not just a profession, but a journey of constant growth and purpose.

Candida Peters

Candida Peters (Preschool Facilitator)

Being part of TSJA for the past year has been a meaningful and rewarding experience, especially as this is my first role as a teacher. Starting out in a new profession naturally came with a mix of excitement and uncertainty, but the support and encouragement I received from the management helped me grow in confidence and settle into the role.

One of the things I value most about working at TSJA is the trust and freedom given to teachers. It has allowed me to bring my own ideas into the classroom and approach teaching in a way that feels both creative and genuine. That sense of support has made a real difference in my journey as an educator.

Over the past year, I have also had the opportunity to build strong connections with both parents and students. Developing those relationships has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my experience.

I also appreciate the school’s clear commitment to each child’s development. The hands-on Montessori approach creates an engaging learning environment where children can understand concepts in a natural and meaningful way. Just as importantly, the school fosters a safe, warm, and inclusive atmosphere that helps children feel comfortable and supported.

Looking back on my first year at TSJA, I feel grateful for the experience, the learning, and the trust placed in me. It has been a strong beginning to my teaching journey.

Sravanthi L

Sravanthi L (Senior Science Teacher )

I’m Sravanthi, a Science teacher at TSJA, and it has been a truly fulfilling experience working here. I strongly believe that science becomes meaningful when students can see and experience it, and at our school, there is a clear emphasis on hands-on learning. This approach helps students connect better with concepts and makes my teaching more effective and enjoyable.

I’m grateful for the constant support from Anu Ma’am and Ryan Sir. They create a positive environment where teachers feel encouraged and valued. What I appreciate the most is the freedom we are given to try new ideas and teaching methods in our classrooms. It allows me to be creative in my teaching and focus on what works best for my students.

Overall, being part of TSJA has helped me grow as a teacher and has made my journey in education both meaningful and inspiring.

Radha D (Head of Projects)

I grew up studying in the most traditional formats of the Indian education system and I had always reimagined my favourite topics in a more fun, practical, experiential and relatable format. it could be a game, a song, a joke or a crazy experiment and that's exactly what I get to do at TSJA as a teacher. I have brought to life all those reimagined lessons in to my classroom. I'm grateful to the open mindedness of the management and their understanding of the fact that teaching and learning has many forms that are effective. My classes at TSJA revolve around experiencing concepts which makes deep impressions and leaves a long lasting effect in the childrens' minds.
